Seven Days of Dapper is back with our second Cali edition of the year. This time, we returned to L.A. and captured a week’s worth of style from Ilana’s closet. (All photos by Jason Lewis.)
About:
My name is Ilana and I am came to LA almost 15 years ago from my home in Vancouver, BC. I often feel as though I’m a cat with nine lives: each life I’ve led completely different from the next. I have finally gotten to a place where I know my path– medical school. So, in a life of constant schoolwork, my personal style has become my “fun” part of the day — that no matter how deep I am in the books, I still get to keep it interesting with my clothes.
My personal style is something I would describe as fluctuating tremendously based on my mood(s) — being the Gemini I am, there are many moods. Being able to have my style reflect that is extremely valuable to me, giving me an outlet to express myself in a city where it’s all too easy to get lost in the crowd.
Day 1
This is my go-to when I’m feeling like being comfortable, but also mysterious. I could wear this in many setting, but especially when I feel like getting into a little trouble. Outfit details: Pants, Zara Man. Boots, Steve Madden. Cloak, Daniel Patrick. Shirt, Topman.
Day 2
I wear this outfit when I feel like getting a little bit sleeker after nightfall. An easy outfit for a night out on the town. Outfit details: Blazer, Marc by Marc Jacobs. Pants, All Saints. Shirt, Rag & Bone.
Day 3
When I’m in a more playful mood, this is what I want to wear. Outfit details: Pants, Levis. Shoes & Backpack, vintage flea market finds.
Day 4
This is what I’d wear to a family dinner. The “I want to be comfortable but also appropriate in front of my grandmother” outfit. Outfit details: Sweater, Topman. Shirt, Topman. Shoes, vintage wingtips. Dog, Kaya (1/2 Jack Russel, 1/2 GoatBeast).
Day 5
The best definition of me, I would call this my everyday outfit: what I wear to school, what I wear to hang. Simple. Comfortable. Functional. Outfit details: Jacket, Rag & Bone. Shoes, John Varvatos. Pants, Adriano Goldschmied.
Day 6
Business Casual. Could wear to an interview or work without feeling over-dressed. It’s fun and bright, something I often shy away from in my wardrobe. Outfit details: Pants, Adriano Goldschmied. Blazer, Gant. Shirt, Zara Man. Shoes, John Fluevog.
Day 7
Weekend cruising. Fun outfit for day or night on the weekends, no matter where you end up. Let’s face it, it’s hard to go wrong with a jean jacket. Outfit details: Jacket, Levis. Pants, J Brand. Shirt, All Saints. Shoes, Yves Saint Laurent. Sunglasses, Ray Ban. Watch, Flud.
How hot is Day 4’s look?! And day 6 is great too. Great selection of outfits Ilana. 🙂
