Beefcake Swimwear: Androgynous 1920s One-Piece Swimsuits

It’s that time of year again. Swimsuit anxiety starting to set in. In previous years, we’ve answered reader questions about dapperQ swimwear with limited brand options. (See previous roundups here and here.) This year, we are stoked that a new androgynous swimwear brand called Beefcake is here to alleviate some swim suit frustrations. Admittedly, we were a bit hesitant about how the suits would fit until we saw Michelle Daly, one of the masterminds behind Plezzure Island, the first and only queer women’s resort takeover in Texas, rocking one on the beaches of Miami for Aqua Girl.

Beefcake just completed a successful Kickstarter and is currently fulfilling all of their Kickstarter orders. But, once on sale, Beefcake will offer sizes XS-5X. Here are the two vintage inspired androgynous one-piece suits they will be starting with: The “Original” and the “Dreamboat.”

Mel Wells, owner/creator/designer of Beefcake Swimwear, states, “We believe Beefcakes are confident, strong, stylish folks who want swimwear that combines fashion and function. We believe Beefcakes can be any gender, so why should their swimwear be binary? And we believe that swimsuits for Beefcakes should be high quality, affordable, available in a wide range of sizes, and manufactured in the USA.”
