dapperQ x Target Produce Young Adult Fashion Show for NYC Pride Inagural Youth Pride

dapperQ partnered with Target to produce a young adult (18-21 years of age) fashion show as part of NYC Pride’s 2017  inaugural Youth Pride event. The show featured 10 diverse LGBTQ youth who were each provided $100 Target gift cards to style a look that affirmed their identities and empowered them as the future leaders of our communities. Youth shopped at Target TriBeCa and Target Harlem with QPOC stylists Anita Dolce Vita (dapperQ), Danielle Cooper (She’s a Gent), and Kim Geronimo (The Street Sensei) for support in completing their full Target look. The outfits were revealed during a runway show at NYC Youth Pride, the first official NYC Pride event that was geared towards teens and their families. “It was inspiring to see our future leaders celebrating their identities with such full pride and confidence on the runway,” states Anita Dolce Vita, the show’s Executive Producer. “To watch these young adults walk with self-love, solidarity, and resistance through a crowd cheering them on was such a refreshing way to empower our communities outside of nightclubs. I couldn’t have been more honored to have partnered with Target and shared this experience with my fellow queer style experts and show Co-Producers, Danielle Cooper and Kim Geronimo.” The core production team was joined by dapperQ Brand Ambassadors Colette Lee Morales, Rio Sherry, and Nina Kossoff.

NYC Youth Pride was a day filled with multi-media activations, including DJs, dancing, photo booths, and a dapperQ “Drop It Like It’s Haute” confetti drop. Check out video and photos documenting the entire experience, from shopping to runway rehearsal to the red carpet reveals.
