Resources for Queers Keeping Connected During Social Distancing

As COVID-19 continues to impact people across the world, we hope that you, your families, and your communities are safe and healthy. Our decade-long enduring values guide us as we face this difficult challenge. One of those values is creating platforms where our communities can feel seen and connected. As part of our continued commitment, we have compiled a few resources to assist our communities in feeling more connected during social distancing. This list is not exhaustive, and we hope to continue adding to it as we learn about more options. Please feel free add your suggestions in the comments section. *Note, the event listing dates are not in order, as we are continuing to add to the bottom of this post as we learn of new virtual performances/meetups/events.

 Upcoming Events through March 31st

Per their website, here are the steps to join:

The LOFT is announcing that our Peer Support Groups will be happening online and over the phone via Zoom, through March 31st. The LOFT knows how important it is for our LGBTQ community to continue to safely connect with one another, especially in times of elevated stress and public concern. Although The LOFT’s in-person groups and drop-in services are suspended through March 31st, The LOFT is announcing that group services will be made available online.

How is this going to work?

  1. Click here to fill out this google form to mark your interest for a particular group(s)
  2. Once you fill out this Google Form, a LOFT staff member will send you the unique zoom access link for the group(s) you request. Each zoom access link is unique to the DATE and GROUP it is associated with. The link will not work outside of the scheduled meeting time.
  3. Set up a FREE Zoom account
  4. Click here for how to set up your Zoom account on a Desktop computer.
  5. Click here for how to set up your Zoom account on a Mobile device.

Read our guidelines for using our LOFT Virtual Groups here.

You can either video chat in or call in using only audio through your Zoom account.

😷 Social distancing got you down? Self quarantining boring you to tears? Or just have to “work” at your “job” in the “morning”???? Lucky for you we will be doing a special virtual edition of Oops! this coming week. Shows, tea, shenanigans, maybe even a drinking game?? All from the comfort of your quarantine zone. After a lot of consideration we had to make the tough decision to stay in and look out for the health and safety of everyone involved with the show. We’ll be taking this day by day and addressing what we can do for our community as we move forward. Tune in Wednesday @ 10pm EST for this very special live show. Until then stay safe and healthy and wash ya hands ya nasty!!! Also much love to @therosemontnyc staff who have always supported us. If you feel healthy and safe their doors will be open to you. Tip them extra just for us 💖💖💖
