We have been receiving a lot of questions about where to purchase masks from queer-owned and queer-friendly brands. In response, we put together a list of queer designers/brands that are offering masks for sale to the public so that you can support independent queer-owned brands while also complying with local ordinances. Some of these designers are not only selling masks, but are also donating masks and/or the funds from mask sales to COVID-19 relief efforts.
DISCLAIMER: CDC recommends wearing cloth face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain (e.g., grocery stores and pharmacies), especially in areas of significant community-based transmission. The cloth face coverings recommended are not surgical masks or N-95 respirators. Those are critical supplies that must continue to be reserved for healthcare workers and other medical first responders, as recommended by current CDC guidance. The products sold by the designers are not medical grade and the brands cannot make any warranties or claims concerning the suitability of these products for medical use, sanitary purposes, or to protect against airborne diseases.
