dapperQ x NYC Pride x Target Youth Pride 2021

NYC Pride and Founding Partner Target are thrilled to bring back Youth Pride, our celebration of and for LGBTQIA+ and ally teens, as a virtual gathering in 2021! For this electrifying experience, we’ve partnered with youth-focused LGBT centers, organizations, and programs nationwide to our iconic annual Youth Pride event virtual.

This incredible program follows 2019’s unforgettable event, where 10,000+ LGBTQIA+ teens came together for a day of performances, appearances, activations and dancing at Central Park’s Summerstage. When 2020 made large gatherings impossible, we took time to reimagine how to safely provide queer youth a crucially important sense of community and togetherness.

In 2021, we’re proud to join with Centerlink and LGBTQIA+ organizations across the country to host virtual, live, or hybrid watch parties for the day’s festivities, providing a safe space for celebration for teens everywhere. These partnerships allow NYC Pride to spread the celebration beyond physical borders, reaching queer youth in the cities and towns nationwide where they live- providing a supportive, affirming sense of community on a never-before seen scale.

Whether in-person, social-distance-friendly watch parties or virtual gatherings, this year’s festivities will feature a roster of musical performances, special guests, and spotlights on queer organizations nationwide and their crucial work. Young people everywhere can celebrate NYC Pride with their friends alongside hype DJ’s, a special ballroom segment featuring houses from New York City’s five boroughs, and appearances by their favorite celebrity special guests, activists, and influencers.

To kick off our Youth Pride celebrations, dapperQ x NYC Pride x Target shot a fashion editorial featuring LGBTQIA+ models ages 12-24 rocking outfits that they felt best affirmed their identities and showcased their pride!
