EcoQ: WAYO Ties from Vintage Kimono

The Western heritage clothing trend, complete with heavy fabrics and plaid bow-ties, is getting so much attention that it is sometimes difficult for me to find the inspiration to write yet another post about rugged-wear.

That is why I was so excited to be introduced to WAYO handcrafted, eco-friendly ties made from vintage kimonos.

These lighter weight ties are a breath of fresh air, perfect for every season, and stand out in a sea of heavy tweeds. You can dress them up for the office, or down for a night out; either way, these will definitely put a unique spin on your suit or blue-jeans ensemble. And, what I like most is that they have both masculine and feminine touches to fit a variety of styles.

Here’s more about the brand:

“The name WAYO (pronounced WAH-YOH) comes from the Japanese word wayosecchu, which means a blending of Japanese and Western styles.
WAYO produces handcrafted goods from vintage kimono. We love Japanese textiles and wanted to find an eco-friendly way to incorporate them into Western fashion. Our goal is to give new life to these once cherished kimono.” – WAYO
