Artist Elisha Lim is the creative visionary behind, among many other things, amazingly beautiful illustrated calendars that capture the diversity and richness of the queer community. The 2011 calendar, titled “The Illustrated Gentleman,” was an ode to dapper queers.
“I asked my most dapper queer friends about how they dress, their tips, and their dream outfits. A lot of them said ‘I couldn’t afford it, but I know where I’d buy it,’ and so we went to those shops together, to try the outfits on in the changerooms, and make illustrations based on that.” – Elisha Lim
The zine is still available for $10 on Elisha’s Etsy site.
The 2013 calendar, “Queer Family Wisdom,” inspired by “family trees and loving words to remind you that you belong,” is now available.
In addition to designing these stunning calendars, Elisha is the creator of “100 Butches,” a collection of queer portraits and anecdotes.
