Seven Days of Dapper: Nicci Briann

We’re back with a brand new Seven Days of Dapper! For this edition, dapperQ contributor Karla Olvera is turning her lens on Nicci Briann, a freelance photographer currently living in Chicago. Nicci shared with us week’s worth of style from her closet.

Bio:
Nicci states, “I never put much thought into where exactly fashion stood in my life, I’ve always just gone with what I feel like wearing at the time. I’ve been a tomboy since I was a little girl. When I was younger you would have most likely found me wearing mens size 32 jeans and a basketball jersey, but as the years went on I found much of my outer appearance reflecting what I prefer aesthetically in my visuals. Dark tones, neutral and muted with a hint of color is what I tend to showcase in my photography and that is embodied in my own style. On the other hand, I am drawn to authentic geometric pieces with Chinle and Ganado patterns. As a professional and student, my style has evolved. Being in graduate school and self-employed means I usually splurge once in a while and thrift sporadically. One designer whom I am really fond of is Marcus Wainwright, designer of Rag and Bone. I appreciate the balance between a hip and modernly classic-tailored look in the brand and absolutely love the colors!”

Chicago-based freelance photographer Nicci is a multi-ethnic woman Nicci has a deep love for culture, the arts and social justice issues, thus one may catch her utilizing her free time indulging in the different communities of the Chicagoland area, photographing the world around her and collaborating with the people she encounters. A graduate of Aurora University with a B.A. in Art and a minor in Psychology, Nicci went on to pursue her Masters degree in Counseling and Art Therapy. For Nicci, the arts have played a crucial role in her identity and she strives to continue intertwining her passions of creating and connecting with others.
