Target Launches Collaboration with Two Queer-Owned, Female-Founded Brands

The Pride month countdown is on, and many of us will wake up in June and find that corporate brands are awash in everything rainbow. Some of us may walk into our favorite stores to purchase items we need every day only to find the stores stocked with with rainbow t-shirts that we would never wear in our daily lives, but are set up like an annual holiday display (1) as if LGBTQ+ people do not exist outside the month of June and (2) as if we aren’t the trailblazers for beauty and fashion for the culture 365 a year.

But, this year, Target is doing something different. Instead of just selling a ton of rainbow kitsch that might end up in a landfill after the parties and parades are over, Target will be carrying stylish and practical items, such as chest binders for the first time, thanks to their new collaboration with TomboyX and Humankind, two queer-owned, female-founded brands. In addition to chest binders, the TomboyX collab offers packing underwear, bras, and boy-shorts in size S-4X.

And just in time for summer, The Humankind collab will feature swimsuit styles, such as swim trunks, tops, and unisuits, real solutions to the dearth of options in the LGBTQ+ swimwear vertical.

Items for these collaborations are already available, so grab your limited edition swag now!
