Tina and I have been together for nine years and got married on July 23, 2016 in St. Pete Beach, Florida. We met through mutual friends and began dating shorting after. I proposed to Tina during what she thought was a kickboxing fundraiser class, but in reality was a flashmob that I had been planning for months.
Wedding:
Although we live in New York, we chose to have our wedding at The Sirata Beach Resort in St. Pete Beach, Florida. We had our ceremony on the beach, overlooking the Gulf of Mexico, surrounded by our family and closest friends. The cocktail hour took place outside on a patio on the resort grounds and the reception was held in the Royal Palm Ballroom which offers floor to ceiling windows with amazing views of the beach and the city of St. Pete.
Wedding Attire:
Being petite, it’s difficult for me to find dress clothes that are both comfortable and flattering. Therefore, I knew I was going to need to get my suit custom made. After some serious research, I chose to design my suit at Bindle & Keep in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. I was inspired by the stories posted on social media about past clients and their positive experiences. I knew that creating my suit with here would be an experience I’d never forget.
I envisioned myself wearing a long, lightweight suit jacket that would be comfortable to wear on the beach in July. I worked closely with Daniel Freidman to choose the fabrics and overall style of the suit.
We chose a beige pair of linen pants, a white short sleeve linen shirt and an eggshell suit jacket. The morning coat inspired suit jacket was my favorite piece because I like coats and shirts that are a bit on the longer side. It also was very different from any other suit jacket I had ever seen before. For shoes, I was barefoot on the beach and then wore a pair of espadrilles from Vans for the reception.
Tina wore the Fox Gown by Rue De Seine Bridal.
